Overview

State excise is a type of taxes applied by the state government on certain items and activities inside a state or territory. Alcohol, cigarette products, petrol, motor fuels and sometimes luxury goods are subject to the tax. State excise tax money is largely used to pay various state initiatives, public services, infrastructure, and other government expenses.
